Exploring pure art + digital art

Hi Everybody!! I have been all over lately... trying to handled between my clients interior projects, looking for new ones, my Revit training, my country house hunting, my art & photography development, my house, my cat, my husband, my friends & family, etc, etc!!! OH! OH! OH! I've been trying to catch the wind! Have you ever tried to catch the wind? Anyway... TIME. TIME. TIME. It's flying and feels like I going against it. OK. I am here today because I want share some work that my friend Simone Alexandrino and I have started exploring a while ago... I was organizing my art & photography folders and I found that material there. Hum... I thought: this is interesting! Did I ever had share it in my blog? Maybe... I don't remember. I did not even check if i did share already. But anyway, I would like to ask your opinion about it. My friend Simone is an artist. She creates beautiful and intricate drawings using her own intuition and her black ink + white special paper. We were trying to combine that pure hand made art with digital art. The idea was to mix the two medias and come up with something abstract, pop and minimal.

MODERN GOTHIC STYLE

I am going to say that I am not a big fan of Halloween Parties… stuff like that! I love the pumpkins, the candies, decorations, but I am not a big fan of the parties… Well, I did not grow up with Halloween day, so that might be why I don’t care so much. However, I've got to tell you that I have a certain fascination for Gothic things… When I was young I was in love with Gothic castles, Middle Age fashion, Ghotic history, etc.. I was not Gothic. I did not have any interest to be Gothic… but I like the mystical and gloomy side of the Gothic style in general. I say that I was a kind of rebel and depressed teenager… and of course, cranky and moody!
This post is to celebrate the Halloween season by celebrating the Gothic Design world. Although I wanted to search for a more modern approach… I got some fantastic images from graphics, fashion, interiors to celebrity Gothic Style…
I found out that the Modern Gothic can be super sexy, coo; and always marvelously dramatic and poetic!

Members of the Community: “Rural Modernists”

Do you think that you can’t find contemporary minds in the countryside?!  Well, the country is not just about farms, cows, trees and hills. We also can find contemporary art and design. During my trip last weekend to the countryside of New York City, I found Jason O' Malley studio with his organic ceramics forms and cartoonist pop art illustrations; and to my surprise, I found the freshest and most enduring Scandinavian design: Scandinavian Grace located on State Route 28 around Ashokan Reservoir. Who would have thought?! Scandinavian designs and pop modern illustrations in the middle of the woods?! Oh, if you don’t believe me, you can check it out yourself!

"This portrait combines the personalities of this "opposite attracts" couple (just like me and my husband).  Collete is a city gal and Tom is a country bumpkin." (Jason O' Malley)

"My clients wanted a portrait of them with their pooches set in their chic living room with the NYC skyline in the background." (Jason O' Malley)

Here he is: The artist himself, Jason O' Malley and his dog Tino.
Isn't Tino so cute?!... Good dog! Good dog!

ATTENTION!!! To All Brides To Be!

A little while ago I met Amy Beth Cupp Dragoo from ABCD Designs _ http://www.abcddesign.com/ in an elevator, in Manhattan. We were both leaving from a Vicente Wolf event… the launching of his Blog. I was there to meet Vicente Wolf, and I think Amy was there to meet Vicente’s Blog… I met Vicente that day… but I also met Amy, her designs and her BLOG! We came out from the elevator and walked for a block together and then we stood at the corner of 39th Street and 8th Ave (I think), and we chatted lively about design, Vicente, art, where originally we were from, etc, etc, and about BLOGs. I remember she was passionate about blogging… It was contagious! She was the first “Blogger” I’ve ever met! From that day on I started getting more curious about blogs… and now, I am blogging and having so much fun! I wanted to thank you Amy to have shared that passion with me that day. Here I want to celebrate your beautiful designs… sharing with others. This is just a little sample of her
infinite creativity!

Beijos & Kisses!
